Background

I came to real estate from tech. Earlier in my career I did information systems audit work at Deloitte and enterprise storage at Dell EMC — the kind of work that teaches you to read infrastructure carefully before touching it.

In 2012 I started buying houses in Yuba and Sutter counties. Probate, inherited properties, distressed sales — the unglamorous parts of the market where a licensed agent who can also read a balance sheet is actually useful. Got my California DRE license along the way. That operation is still running as Yuba Home Buyer.

The SEO side started as a self-interested problem. I needed motivated seller leads and I wasn't going to pay a national aggregator $150 per lead forever. So I built the websites myself — WordPress first, then Next.js when I outgrew it — and learned the semantic SEO methodology from Koray Tuğberk GÜBÜR's work, which is what REI Spark is now grounded in.

REI Spark exists because after building this stack for my own two businesses (and for Sell My House Fast In CA, the newest one), other investors started asking how. So here we are.
